Sell A Domain

domainAlot.com is a new company, formed recently in the Spring of 2025.

Having experienced at first-hand the frustration of using sites such as GoDaddy, Afternic, and Sedo to sell domains previously, and the enormous amounts of revenue that was lost in paying commissions for using these services, our founder established domainAlot.com with the intention of offering the market a simpler, fairer, and better domain brokerage service.

The single most important point for you as an owner trying to sell your domain is that domainAlot does not take any commission from the sale of your domain. That's ZERO Commission. Nothing. Which means when you sell your domain with domainAlot.com, you keep it all.

Absolutely. In addition to providing a no commission domain brokerage service, domainAlot does not imply any transaction fees to the seller from the sale of their domain. Meaning, the price you choose to list your domain for is the money you actually receive when you sell your domain, and not just a percentage or cut of it. The Escrow transaction fee for the sale and provision of escrow services is covered by the buyer.

As we said, we believe in transparency, fairness, and providing a better alternative for domain owners and investors looking to sell their valuable assets. That means:

  • FREE listing in The Domain Marketplace.
  • FREE listing in Domain Category Listings.
  • FREE listing in Domain Search Results.
  • FREE Domain Appraisal.
  • FREE Parking Page.
  • FREE Logo design to promote your domain.
  • FREE Brand Positioning Statement (slogan) to increase the connection between your domain and it's optimal domain category/ market.
  • FREE Account Dashboard to manage your domain listings and settings.
  • FREE "Featured Domain" Promotion across domainAlot.com's social media channels.

No. We do not, and will never demand any exclusive listing rights when you choose to list your domain for sale on domainAlot.com. Quite the contrary, we actively encourage all domain owners to use all other channels and platforms in addition, and in parallel, to help promote and/ or further enhance the sales opportunities for their domains.

Domain marketplaces like Afternic, Atom, and Flippa all rely on commission from the sale of any domain owners domain. By demanding exclusivity they attempt to ensure that in the event of selling your domain you cannot avoid their exorbitant fees. Because domainAlot.com is openly transparent and the only commission-free domain marketplace, we have nothing to profit from, and nothing to gain by insisting upon exclusivity. Therefore, we do not. Our role is to help you actively sell your domain not create obstacles that might prevent you from doing so.

As GoDaddy charges you 25% commission, plus additional fees such as VAT in Europe, the easiest way to calculate how much money you give away in selling your domain on GoDaddy is by example. Since BrandBucket can charge you up to 30% commission, plus additional fees such as appraisal fees and "pay-out" fees, the easiest way to calculate how much money you give away in selling your domain on BrandBucket is by example. So, imagine your domain was valued at $1,000 USD. By selling your domain on Afternic you can expect to pay $300 USD in commission compared to $0 USD on domainAlot.com.

Absolutely. We created the My Domain Profit Calculator precisely for this purpose. The My Domain Profit Calculator allows you to compare all major marketplaces and registrars to see the total and hidden costs, including commissions and fees, that you can expect to pay for selling your domain so that you can easily see which marketplace is most profitable for you. The Calculator allows you to send the results in a clean, formatted table to your email account, or to download a formatted PDF document for your records.

Unlike large registrars with substantial operating overheads, we are small, and being small offers us a number of advantages in providing a domain brokerage service.

  • We don't need to charge brokerage service fees.
  • We don't need to charge commissions of Twenty Percent (20%), Twenty-Five Percent (25%) or more for the successful sale of domains listed on our site.
  • We don't need to charge "membership" fees for auctions or annual fees to access The Marketplace.
  • We don't need to justify various commission models based upon the parking of your domain against our pages, because there are no commission fees at domainAlot.com.

At domainAlot.com, our operating costs are small. Small enough in fact to be covered by a single fee based upon the duration that sellers wish to list their domains with us.

We provide sellers with four (4) alternative timeframes for listing their domain that determines their total fee.

  • Thirty (30) day listing for $4.99 USD.
  • Ninety (90) day listing for $9.99 USD.
  • One hundred and eighty (180) day listing for $14.99 USD.
  • Indefinite (list until sold) for $19.99 USD.

No. Your listing fee is determined by the duration you wish your domain to be publicly listed on domainAlot.com. When you list your domain, you can choose to:

  • Sell Only
  • Lease Only
  • Offer your domain for both Sale and Leasing

Once you have have successfully completed the details of your domain listing, your domain will be available for sale, leasing, or both, depending upon your selected preferences.

domainAlot.com is an independent company located in Scandinavia. We do not have investors, or need to satisfy the needs of shareholders, or pay their dividends. We choose instead to be fair and transparent. More than the sctual economics of the company, the truth is that commissions can be misleading. Not only that, when it comes to the value of Premium Domains, any commission that you would otherwise pay could easily represent a sizeable loss in your return on investment.

The short answer, is yes. Without question. Here's why. When you sell your domain through another domain marketplace or registrar you will often be able to list your domain for free, or have to pay a number of hidden fees, such as an annual membership fee to view listings, a domain broker fee, an appraisal fee, or a pay-out (withdrawal) fee etc. All of these fees are charged in addition to the actual commission the marketplace takes for its role in connecting the domain owner with the buyer. More often than not, the commission fee also has a minimum charge, meaning that even if your domain was sold for $20 USD, you would need to pay a minimum of $50 USD and would actually owe the marketplace money. Many domain marketplaces also set "tiered" commission levels which again can be misleading as your domain might suddenly be charged at a much higher commission rate than you had hoped or believed. Many domain marketplaces also charge for services such as domain parking and/ or promotion, including placement in domain search results. In short, when you combine all these costs, both upfront, hidden, and commission fees, what might seem a simple calculation for the sale of your domain can often amount to a very large amount of revenue lost in the sales process.

Let's say you choose to list your domain for the minimum thirty (30) day period. The total cost for you, including inclusion in The Domain Marketplace, Domain Search Results, Home Page Listings, Category Listings, a FREE Parking Page, FREE Domain Appraisal, a FREE Logo Design, and FREE Account Dashboard, would be $4.99 USD. The average commission fee from any leading domain marketplace is between twenty and thirty percent (20-30%) meaning you would pay between $20-30 USD. In addition, pay for any number of the services such as domain parking and/ or search results that you get free at domainAlot.com.

We do, so you don't have to. When you list your domain, you are free to choose a background to accompany your domain name for listings in sections of the site such as The Domain Marketplace and Domain Search Results. This will also appear in the details page of your domain initially while our designers create a brand identity to help promote your domain for sale.

No. Absolutely not. We will create and provide a logo for your domain FREE of charge in order to help promote your domain for sale. Along with a FREE Parking Page, these are just some of the added benefits you can expect, and examples of how we try to support domain owners as much as we can and provide a better, fairer service.

Yes, of course. We've created a simple Beginners Sales Guide for Domain Owners who want to sell their digital assets but might not know how or where to begin.
