Buy A Domain

domainAlot is a completely independent domain brokerage service. We allow domain owners (sellers) to list their domains for sale. As a broker, we do not own or have ownership to any of the domains that are listed on our site. We provide instead a service that facilitates the buying, leasing, or selling of domains by connecting the owner (seller) of each domain with a potential buyer or lessee.

Quite simply, none. At domainAlot.com, we think that broker service fees are an unacceptable practice. That leading domain registrars, such as GoDaddy, charge overly-inflated fees for contacting the domain owner to ask if the domain is for sale and "negotiate" a sales price is indefensible. Moreover, to then demand anything up to thirty-five percent (35%) commission on any eventual sale thereafter is precisely why we founded domainAlot.com. To offer buyers and sellers of domains, a better, fairer, and more transparent service.

No. At domainAlot.com we do not charge any commission to buyers or sellers of domains listed on our site, which makes domainAlot the ONLY domain marketplace that offers Zero (0%) Commission on domain sales and purchases.

At domainAlot.com there are no "membership" fees or hidden charges to be able to buy, sell, or lease a domain listed on our site. In fact, you don't even need to log in or have have registered an account to browse the domains in The Domain Marketplace.

When the owner of a domain chooses to use domainAlot to list their property, they must decide what they wish to do. Domain owners can choose to list their domain in three (3) differing ways.

  • For Sale Only
  • For Lease Only
  • For Both Sale and Leasing

In addition, when a domain owner lists their domain for sale, they can opt to accept payment through a Domain Payment Plan. A Domain Payment Plan allows prospective buyers to pay for the domain in convenient monthly payments.

Of course. A Domain Payment Plan is a simple, highly flexible way for prospective buyers to pay for a domain through smaller, convenient monthly payments. Domains, especially premium and ultra-premium domains, are valuable digital assets that can be expensive to acquire. In much the same way as car dealerships and furniture outlets allow you to purchase higher-priced items on credit, a Domain Payment Plan allows you to purchase a domain over time through lower, more affordable instalments, rather than needing to pay the full amount upfront.

For a buyer interested in purchasing a domain, a Domain Payment Plan allows you to split the cost of your domain across twelve (12) smaller payments without paying additional interest. For any business owner, especially in the starup phase, funds are precious and being able to reduce initial investment costs allows the ability to prioritise other operating needs without forfeiting the optimal brand and domain name for any business venture.

Yes. In order to avoid confusion or currency fluctuations, all domains offered by domainAlot.com are priced in U.S Dollar denominations only.

No, not at all. As a broker, domainAlot manages the sale and acquisition of all domains listed on our site. By simply pressing the "Buy it Now with Escrow" or "Pay First Instalment Now with Escrow" button of the domain you wish to acquire, you will be transferred to the payment page at Escrow.com to secure your domain.

Escrow is a service that allows a neutral third-party to hold money, assets, or documents for two parties in a transaction until all conditions of the agreement are met. We partner exclusively with Escrow.com to ensure that both the buyer and the seller of a domain are protected throughout the entire purchase and eventual transfer process, ensuring that payment is only released once inspection of the domain is complete and transfer has been made to provide peace of mind for both parties.

Once a domain is purchased, Escrow.com will contact us to confirm that payment has been made. We immediately remove the domain from our listings and marketplace to prevent duplicate purchases. domainAlot will then contact the buyer directly to remind them of their three (3) day inspection period as well as contact the seller and confirm they must prepare for the release of the domain from the current registrar to enable transfer and provide the necessary authentication codes.

The inspection period is a courtesy period that we provide all buyers of domains listed on domainAlot by default. We recognise that needs change and on occassion when purchasing a domain, a buyer can have second thoughts, or may have subsequently found and purchased an alternative brand for their needs. In such event, the inspection period is the time provided to a buyer during which they can change their mind freely about a purchase and reverse the transaction without question.

The inspection period is provided for added protection and added peace of mind. As a buyer, once you purchase a domain you are given the option to negate the inspection period. When choosing this option, the current owner of the domain is informed that you do not wish to wait for the transfer to begin and wish to proceed immediately. In such event, the current owner will contact the existing domain registrar and begin the ownership transfer process.

No. The inspection period provides you with three (3) days from the time of payment to cancel or reverse your transaction without charge. However, should you choose to negate the inspection period then the formal process of transfer will be deemed to have begun, and with it, your acceptance of the domain in accordance with our Terms of Service and Domain Purchase Agreement (DPA).

No. The period for inspection is the time in which you are allowed to cancel and reverse your payment without charge. If you choose to allow the inspection period to expire, then you have agreed to accept the domain without objection and the formal process of transfer will be deemed to have begun.

While transferring domain ownership can typically be achieved within five to seven (5-7) business days, it is ultimately dependent upon the registrar of the domain. The process, however, can be much quicker if both parties are timely in approving their registrar requests. Delays may occur if there are issues with domain locks or issuing authentication codes by the exiting registrar, and domainAlot will advise the buyer when and wherever possible to follow all specific guidelines to expedite the transfer.

Certainly. Escrow.com allows payments to be made by PayPal and any major Credit Card (including Visa, MasterCard, AMEX) for purchases under $5,000.00 USD. Please note, however, that additional fees may be incurred when using third-party payment systems such as PayPal and credit card processing as they would do when purchasing any item on any platform.

Domains that are listed and valued above $5,000.00 USD can only be purchased through direct payment from your banking institution (Wire Transfer).

domainAlot does not charge any fees to the buyer for the purchasing of a domain. Escrow.com charge a transaction fee for the use of its escrow services for facilitating payment and the security that they provide. The buyer of a domain is responsible for the transaction fees charged by Escrow.com for payment and the purchase of the domain.

Escrow.com charges a fee of 2.6% based upon the transaction amount. The minimum Standard Fee is $50 USD for Wire Transfers made in the value of $0 - $5,000 USD. Thereafter, Escrow.com provides a reduced transaction fee at various levels dependent upon the value of the purchase. For example, 2.4% for transactions made between $5,000 - $50,000 USD. For a complete overview of Escrow's transaction fees please see the Escrow Fee Calculator.

Yes. Every domain that is listed on domainAlot is provided with it's own unique branding identity. By viewing the details of any individual domain, you can view the logo and brand positioning statement suggested by our designers. These accompany the domain, and are also yours to own and use as you wish in your marketing and promotional materials without charge.

No. Sadly, that would be impossible. A trademark is a unique protection provided to a symbol, name, or identity, that is related to an industry (class), that is filed in the country of intended business opertation. Since a domain can be purchased by anyone, for any use, anywhere, it is not possible to file a trademark for any domain in advance.

No. In much the same way as a trademark cannot be granted to a domain, a valid business registration cannot be issued or determined in advance for an unknown owner, with unknown place of intended business, and unknown purpose and use of intent.
